Beautiful Destruction

Savannah Benson

Beautiful Destruction

Flames;

In my chest.

Raindrops;

On my cheek.

One burns.

The other

Soothes,

Much like you.

One minute,

A volcano

Exploding

Covering everything in ash.

The next,

A calm gentle rain

To wash it all

You’re the first flower

After winter.

And the first summer fire.

The first spring hurricane.

And the last rising sun.

You are beautiful destruction

Like a wildfire

That illuminates the sky.

You are the end of this world

And the new beginning;

The first blade of grass,

And the first stinging bee.

You are perfection.

You are flaws.

You are everything in between.

You are queen.
