Come home from school, but it's not a home,
because I feel that I'm all alone.
He is there, ready to hit,
scream, touch every little bit
of my fragile body. My mind is worse,
getting ready for my hearse.
Always scared, alone, depressed,
even too afraid to rest.

A light shines in and he's all gone,
and it can become a real, safe home.
No child should have to feel that pain,
but now I can laugh and smile again.
