To Be My Own Psychologist
"How are we feeling today?"
"How much have you eaten?"
"Let's check your weight."
"Have you ever hurt yourself?"
"Are you hearing things?"
"Are you seeing things?"
An interrogation
All too familar.
"Do you know why you're here?"
Do you know why I'm here?
"I'm here to help."
Myself.
I'm here because
I too have sat
In the very position you find yourself.
I'm here because
I know what it's like
To be bombarded by billions of bullets,
Each at point blank,
Rounding off
Who
What
When
Why
How
Did I find myself
In this position.
And I swatted them all away
One by one,
Let them d

Because nobody cared,
And I didn't care,
Because I was
INVINCIBLE.
But even the greatest hero
Has their downfall.
And I fell further and further,
Faster and faster

the rabbit hole.
I fell.
Off with my head.
So they poked
And they prodded
With their pointless
Questions, trying to pinpoint
The cause of psychosis.
But this I promise.
I am not here
To point and laugh and humiliate
Like the others before me.
I am not here
To run from you
When you need me most.
I am not here
To make things worse.
I am not here
To hurt you.
So I'm down on my knees,
Begging, pleading,
LET ME HELP YOU.
So that I may help
Myself.
