Barriers
Location
As a little child
I played in an open field of dreams
Not having a care in the world
But as time went by a fence started to build a barrier around me
shielding me from upcoming dangers
In middle school my fence became a bubble dome
So fragile, threating to go popping
whenever someone got too close
And once it popped
I was unprotected
unprepared
for the hurt that was to come
But now, today,
I have learned my lesson
Today, my barrier is no longer a fence nor is it a bubble dome
That can be torn down or popped at the slightest bit of effort
My barrier is a towering brick wall
Protecting me from my outside fears and dangers
Waiting for someone strong enough to tear down my wall
Tear it down and become my protection
Protecting me from the horrors
of this cruel world
