BANG! BANG!

My name is BANG

I’m 17 years old

This morning I rushed out and I didn’t tell mum that I loved her

I am a student at BANG

I was heading to my history lesson

I had my headphones on when my dad drove me to school this morning

I sit in the back row

BANG BANG

I argueed with my best friend over our weekend plans

BANG

She’s bleeding in the corridor

I had to leave her there

I hope she’ll be ok

I couldn’t run and carry her

She has to be ok

BANG

I should have taken the mac & cheese at lunch today

I think I’ve seen him around before today

I should have worn my dark jeans today, the blood doesn’t show through those

BOOM

I think he just walked into the classroom next door

I should have spoken up more in class

BANG BANG BANG

I should have talked to him, maybe he needed more friends

This isn’t my fault

The gun shots sound like the beats of a song

BANG

I love you mum

Dad I’m sorry I didn’t listen

BOOM

He’s here in my classroom

BANG

I’m 17

I don’t want to die

BANG

I think he hit her

I’m not sure if she’s gonna make it

She was a good teacher

BANG

My shoulder hurts

The girl next to me is bleeding from her chest

I lie there and act dead

BANG

I can’t breath

There’s a hole in my stomach

It ruined my favourite shirt

BANG

I want to be buried in my prom dress

It’s baby blue with little flowers on it

It doesn’t hurt that much anymore

BANG

It feels like I’m falling asleep

My eyes are closing

It’s hard to breath

BANG

I was 17 years old

This is the story of how I died

This poem is about:
Our world
