Back Sweat (Working Title... Suggestions?)

You were always too much to fit intomy dollhouse dreams.
I never asked for you to leave
your shoes at the door,
they didn’t seem right there

when you did. You did
live here but this was never your home.
Like the wind through winter weathered branches
you were just passing through-
only to return on warmer days

to stick to this olive skin
like unwanted sweat.
One always longs for heat
on lonely and cold winter nights.
