From the back of the bus
To the front of the class,
No doubt such hate and fuss
Could ever last

Though with darker skin and smaller grins
They did prevail, never forgetting how things could've been.
Responding to hate with love, and to bigotry with equality,
Some battles they may have lost, but in the end, they won this war.

Forever changing the meaning of brother and friend,
We may all now may make amends.
A new family, let bond and ignite,
Through this Right, allow no more spite.
