Like a Baby Bird

Like a baby bird we are leaving the nest.
have we yet discovered who we are,
what we want to be,
what we want to discover?

WE
We must stick together as a people,
a generation.

Fighting against the cold place which the world has become.
It was so much easier for our grandparents-
our parents.

OUR PARENTS
will no longer be there
in the next room
waiting to put a band-aid on our scraped knee.

Our scabby, scraped knees
symbols of childhood,
they will eventually heal completely becoming scars-
memories.

MEMORIES
Memories which will last life times,
The beginning feels like the end.
Not even halfway through and having to take the reins.

BECOME WHO YOU WANT TO BE,
take the reins with force.
Become a piolet and fly,
fly with the world at your fingertips.
Be amazing.

YOU ARE UNSTOPPABLE.
