Awful Colors In A Beautiful Painting

I stare at the mirror

Watching anxiety pour

My dignity crawls beneath me

Heaving on all fours

My breath is ragged

My tears leave stains

Jagged wounding words

Shatter what remains

"Fag" they say

Cause I don't love the same as you

"Fat" they say

Cause I ain't no size two

My demons swirl around me

Begging me to play

Draining color from my eyes

Turning my vision gray

But underneath the muck

And underneath the hate

Just below the surface

Awaits something great

Because all my abnormalities

And all my slights and sins

Are colors in a masterpiece

called flawlessness within
