Awakening Storm

My heart is tangled
My breath is worn
I can see the coming storm
My thoughts are shallow
My mind is thin
There’s the howling wing
My soul is growing weak
My eyes are looking old
How to survive the threatening cold
I feel my days are numbered
My life so full of sin
I’m looking for a sign that soon marks the end
I’m hoping for a light
Some way to guide me through
All of the sudden I come to meet You
I pray in the morn
I pray in the night
Yet I still have to battle the everlasting fight
Will I hear Your voice
Something comforting
Are the questions now as You begin to sing
I am not promised it will end
The pain, the suffer, the sorrow
I am promised that You’ll lead to a better tomorrow
The storm keeps rolling in
The rain begins to fall
The only difference now is
I see You through it all
Bruises, cuts, and burns
The ache, the break, the need
I look toward You, for You are my lead
The rain will wash through
But every time I see it
I’ll always meet You
