He was just a boy
Someone who was filled with joy
They could have given him a chance
Still at the age of ignorance
All they saw was a boy to destroy

Overkill seems to have been the goal
Makes you wonder if they even had a soul
They did not just beat him
They did more than shoot him
What they did was they stole

They stole this boy of life
When they gouged his eye out with a knife
When they used that fan and chicken wire
They might have well set him on fire
To them he was just a lowlife

“Mom come save me” he starts to yell
While praying these men will rot in hell
He screams “please God make them quit”
Then they finish him off with one last hit
Saying bye-bye so long to him farewell

His mother couldn’t believe the news
Wanting to know who would do such abuse
The sight of her son filled her with emotion
Everything started to move in slow motion
Her son was all she had to lose

“Open the casket” she said
The world needs to see why my son is dead
His beautiful face you can’t recognize
But I’m not covering him up with a disguise
This will help change the world instead

This boy influenced people like Rosa Parks
This then caused Martin Luther King Jr. to add his sparks
Emmitt Till’s life caused a huge improvement
It’s well known as the Civil Rights Movement

Amazing. I love how you are not afraid to add detail of such horror that happened.
