Athletic Woman

I am...

Who they said I couldn't be

An underestimated athlete

With one goal and one dream in her mind

They said my efforts were a waste of time

Now the game has changed

And what it looks as, is not what it seems

Was trying to be the "I" that never appears in team

Now the athlete that makes the bleachers shout and scream

The one with the drive, the pride, the girl with her eyes on the prize

The girl that will always put on a fight

Taking her skill level to an unmeasurable height

Lifting weights to be stronger than any girl or guy

The one they said would never grow wings in hopes to fly

But who am I

I am the one with her head up high

Because I accomplished what they said couldn't be done

Now they look to me, preaching I am the "one"
