An Atheist's Prayer
Location
Pastel bows,
Cream frills, and
Crimson cheeks
Identify me on the seventh day.
Muscles cramp
As my smiling mask
Begins to crack,
Kneeling in the last pew.
Beads cascade down my face.
A rosary of humiliation foms in my hands
As if to pray, I look down.
The pool of tears reflect my hidden distress.
