Asian. Ignorance.
“Asian” used to be a thing of beauty,
But now there are images of labor—
Simply that is our soul duty.
But we, just like all, are humble neighbors.
Here I am, color of sand
Amongst everywhere I stand
One.
Majorities do not see—
A foreigner of this land.
You find it so spectacular
That I am a holy token
Of critical slang vernacular,
Where you make students stop speaking
Once I have spoken.
The curriculum emphasizes the importance of race
And I am the sole representative with simply my face—
Like a charity case,
You say anything without disgrace.
But I forgive your unfamiliarity
I understand a minority is a rarity
Teach your students this and
Let me provide you with clarity:
“I’m too yellow to understand.”
But with courage, I can withstand
You.
I am not the genocide
To lay your dead hand.
When they all point fingers,
To this empire of bravery—
Though their ignorance still lingers
Their taste is quite savory.
You are entitled to your opinion,
But remember that we bring peace
To your methods of dominion
And share our cultures, ideas, and tension release.
