The Ashtray In The Corner

The Ashtray In The Corner

There’s an ashtray in the corner

Ghost of past lovers on my wall

They’re haunting my propriety

And I entrust them with my downfall

Blood and cigarette smoke fills my lungs

The mood is pathetic

The lights too illuminescent

And tobacco stains the rim of my gums

Happiness; I’m almost there

It’s on the tip of my tongue

Like the molly in my mouth

The words I can’t get out

Fuel the shrewd voices in my head

The psychedelia and hallucinogens

Allow me to see

That there’s still an ashtray in the corner
