Ashes to Ashes

Ashes to ashes
Dust to dust

My heart was consumed by lust
My heart ate up by desire
My heart burned upon a pyre

Love is lost, kindness gone
This soul lays inert
The heart beats no longer
Last breath exhales

I wasted too much time
I have imbibed
I have lived
I have died
I have defeat in my mind

In this winding path
Lust laid me low
Desire buried me deep
My funeral pyre burned hot
The dust flew here and there
The witnesses coughed in despair

Folly is my name
Tart my moniker
Innocence I spurned
Criminal my hands do bear
Lost in flight I exist
Misjudged misunderstood
I bear witness through it all
