She showed me how to paint.
A hidden secret.
The canvas was to be put away when I wasn't painting.
The painting, always the same intense red.
The more strokes I added, the better I felt.
What a sweet delicacy- my brush.
My greatest possession.
She told me never to show anyone.
Painting became a passion,
This passion, an addiction-
All I ever thought about.
Sometimes when no one was looking,
I would peak at my canvas
The only joy I had brought upon me instantly.,
Get ahold of a brush and I will show you how to paint.
Just remember...
Never brush vertically, always horizontally.
