Arise in the Distance

I can't face my shadow without the sun rise.

The higher it rises then the more my mind settles and is at peace.

Red and yellow rays combined to shine and give me the hope I forget still exists.

A heart is like an egg.

It may be filled with love but it's still breakable.

It's still fragile and can bleed.

Some say falling in love can be like your touching the sky and the cloud we land on is perfectly soft….

Only that's not always true.

Some of us start off with our heads in the clouds, until we fall through.

People can change and a face can lie. The world can be both fulfilling and tormenting.

So I keep my head up...so I can find my way

Back home where the sand is hot but soft.

Where that tall mountain was meant for us to climb and not me alone.

Forgetting is never easy when I look at the tree where our names were carved.

No matter what the future holds sugar and salt won't mix.

Lies and truth will mean the same.

Healing doesn't happen without tears.

There's no point in smiling when no one else will see it.

There's no point in laughing without a reason.

There's no point in me making your favorite pasta….

When you'll never be here to eat it.

No matter how many times I close my eyes and imagine...

Africa and Arizona are not the same place.

No matter how much I may not want to believe it….

Not leaving was a promise we failed to keep.

But maybe one day when the shadows of my doubts go away love will arise.

Happiness can take away the sadness but life can make it hard to see that.
