An April Truth

The smell of the fresh April air

Reminds me of this time, last year

The day seemed fair

But suddenly became my worst fear

I never meant what was said

A week before this

My apology now seems dead

Dying without a single kiss

Why did you have to go

Without a real reason why

I wish it wasn’t so

Now I know you told a lie

The truth comes out

About five months later

For some reason I doubt

That you could be a traitor

Though I know I shouldn’t

Be in love with you

Though I vowed I wouldn’t

I still continue to
