Apparent Love

Born into labor
Roots buried deep
An outlined life etched into stone
His arms are strong enough

A wife
A home
A child’s plea for a better life
His will is solid enough

An empty wallet
Eight hungry mouths
And a desperate cry to God
But his faith is secure enough

7 pounds and 6 ounces
Validate every sacrifice made
Now his arms have held the weight of love

6 lives
To 27 lives
In an instant
But his heart is large enough

Thousands of lives
Countless burdens
Endless requests
But his arms are strong enough

The end of a life
The beginning of another
Love remains
And we are strong enough

I may have not recognized your love then, but I know it now
We will never forget your ultimate acts of love
We will never forget...
