Like any other drug

This device in you hands, good for so many things.                                                                              But right now all you need is it's music, and the distraction it brings.

You feel the thoughts closing in, earbuds shaking in your fists.                                                           Scratches around the headphone jack, where several times you've missed.

You fumble with the wire, stress near on your mind.                                                                                 You think; "Why must earbuds tangle, they take too much time."

But now you have done it, noise flowing to your head.                                                                     Replacing the worries that threatened to haunt you, instead.

The songs you relate to so much, temporarily covers your wound.                                                       So you allow it to fool you, and drown yourself in sound.
