Anxiety Tree

Anxiety

Sometimes it's a leaf falling from a tree

Others it is the tree

As it drizzles

More leaves sprout

As it pours

The tree grows taller

However I do not

This tree is bigger than me

Its roots are planted into the ground

They will stay forever

Its branches can shake me at any time

They can dull me in the day

Or illuminate me in the night

Because trees don't sleep

But neither do I anymore

This tree is like me

People tamper with it

It gets damaged

Over time I realize

Soon

We'll both just wither and die

Together

Beacuse it lives inside of me

Anxiety
