Anteros' Sojourn

The pestilent air around me breathed.

Takes ruinous reign o'er love received.

A vixen sprung prematurely from her cage

Only to retreat until another age.

'Twas once quite joyous beyond belief.

Each actor doth ended wrought with grief.

On the horizon for each a new love was sought,

And truly for each, each's labours besot.

The swain doth beseech himself to recover,

And in such strife, locate a new lover.

The dane toiled within for expedient fix.

Neither's thoughts nor words

were permissioned to mix.

Thoust ceases to waste more love on she from which love will not return.

New love is kindled in heart's fire and furnace, while such moribund love will burn.
