Another, But Me

You forsake me for another

And leave me cold and lonely.

You torture me with your eyes,

They greet me yet they ignore me.

You taunt me with your smile,

It sends comfort but mocks me.

You tease me with your words.

They belong in a symphony,

But leave me with aching ears

For your words don't reach me.

You afflict me with a pain

And rejected my heart will be.

I am walled from you.

From the outside looking in,

Another looks out at me

Engraving your zeal for him.

Now your hands push me away

And they gently take another.

Your mind erases my memory,

But creates a new, for another.

I am drawn by your enticement,

Yet forsake me for another.
