An Angel I Call Mine

I was defeated, broken, alone

Stuck inside my mind.

Ostracized, by family, by home

For all the things I felt inside.

There was not a time or place

Where I could get my peace.

That is until I saw your face

And felt a great release.

And the stress rolled off my shoulders.

And the doubt washed out of me.

And our eyes, the fire smolders.

And we are finally, truly free.

Before I wanted to runaway

And leave this world behind.

Until I had you here to stay

An angel I call mine.
