An American Truth

France hates us.

The world laughs at us.

We are slobs.

We are free.

We are generous.

We are beautiful.

We are lovers.

We are fighters.

We are rescuers.

Tsunami in Japan.

Earthquake in Haiti.

Our tears fill the ocean divide.

Cinco de Mayo and St Paddy’s Day.

The colors of the 4th of July.

Our celebrations light up the night sky!

Our gates open,

Our hearts wide,

Our love deep.

We are America.
