The American Dream

The American Dream

A run in fear

The sprint to safety

A jog for a dream

A race with death

The American Dream

It is sought by all

As their countries fall

Why can’t they see

I need a home for my family

The American Dream

A start anew

Our intentions true

A way to feel free

A chance at liberty

The American Dream

Our government corrupt

Our businesses bankrupt

Our life so crappy

A pursuit to be happy

The American Dream

Please let us in

We will not sin

Let us work

Our diversity, an artwork

The American Dream

We want a chance

Just hear our stance

We have nowhere to go

We are not your foe

The American Dream

A rush in fear

The dash to safety

A scurry for a dream

A race with death

The American Dream
