America the broken

Wed, 02/22/2017 - 23:01 -- Kg1999

America the broken,

shattered at our feet

in recent years

we've had to fear

when we walk down the street

our children cannot walk to school

like they did yesterday

they'll get snatched up by a fool

and be taken away.

We live in an age

where being bad is hip

but some kids steal food

they can't afford a shopping trip

Men will fight each other,

just because of race

People make assumptions

for the color of your face

this includes everyone,

black white yellow or brown,

who have to worry

what goes on in their town.

america the broken

shattered at my feet

enter a new era

where life's taste is sweet

This poem is about:
My country
Our world
