America the Beautiful

America the beautiful

America the great

The country many flee to

For their own sake.

The poverty, the rebels,

The robbed, the racism

The depressed, the jobless,

The inequality, the sexism.

But what country is perfect?

What country is without flaw?

Who am I to complain?

When I can be protected by law?

Overseas you see child brides

Oversea you see dispire,

Real sexism against women

How is any of that fair?

In my country,

As a woman I can work

As a woman I can vote

So let's not be a jerk

It's the country I know

And it is the country that I love

though it's not perfect

Home is what I think America of.
