America

America

Your Great

The one that every man wants

The one that every one fights to be in

The one that promises us freedom in every way that we can dream

America

Beautiful in all its glory

But...there’s always another side that’s pushing to show

The scars are starting to show

Those bandages are now ripping themselves from the wounds that never should have been

They are screaming to be healed

They are screaming to be heard

And they can be

This land of freedom just needs to open their eyes

They need to see that those wounds never stopped bleeding

That there were sacrifices, on top of sacrifices that made us who we are today

Dead bodies that we stand on as our hand lays over our heart

Lets not make those we left behind die in Vain

America

Your Great

It's just sometimes it seems like nothing has changed

That through all your beauty

Through deep cracks in the concrete it screams “if you are not what we think is normal you can not be”

What does that mean for people like me?

We can not peel our skin off for you

Can't give our all to you when we have done so already

To heal you just need to listen

Listen to the pain you caused us

All the days that freedom was just a whisper in the minds of our ancestors

America

Your Great

It's just that your beauty needs to be fixed inside

Listen to the ones that are screaming for you to love them

Because love is the center of beauty
