Home is where I can always be safe,

A place where no one can hurt me.

Home is where I run to hide from reality,

A place where feelings run free.

I can almost hear those silent influencing voices,

Those unheard voices of home solving my problems.

Home is where questions get asked to no one in general,

A place which listens, never responds, but yet answers so honestly.

I can almost smell the sweet scent of serenity,

A peaceful place with its own special perfume.

Home is where the aroma of fresh, ambient air drifts freely,

A place where much can make my taste-buds water.

I can almost see those distant dreams appearing so life-like,

A place where imagination takes hold.

Home is where I grew up not knowing what was to come,

A place where I learned to face the world on my own two feet.

I can almost feel the swift movement of childhood slowly disappearing,

The strong safety nets of family finally unraveling to let me go free.

Home is where I can always go to be warm and to be loved,

A place where little things can touch my heart.

Home is where I get the sense of belonging,

A place where I’m free to be myself without anyone judging me.

Home is where I have, and will continue to, make memories that’ll last a lifetime,

A place that’ll always be there for me:

A place that I’ll never forget…
