I walked up to an older lady and told her, “I am your lover”,
I told her never to forget me and that there will be no other.
She stored me in her memory, continued out her day,
I wallowed in her memories and never went away.
Sometime today she called to say,
“I think I saw you yesterday”.
I said, well pleased, “You didn’t luise,
you only make it seem that way.”
“Why would I do such a thing”, she said.
I said, “ You let me in your head!”.
“You’ve stored me in your memory
And so I make my choices.
I flip through all your memories,
Do you not hear all the noises?
I skip the ones I don’t like
And invade the ones I do.
I made you think you seen me
I made you think it’s true.
Yesterday is your today,
today is everyones tomorrow.
What day do you think today is?
What day was your last sorrow?”
And then she cried, “I think you lied,
I think you stole from me.
You stole my memories, you stole my life, you stole my family.
You came as swift and quiet as a leaf.
I know who you are,
I know who you are!
I know you are a thief!”
And then I said, “Now, now there Meg
Just take a nice, deep sleep.
You'll awake today and then you’ll sing
You surly won’t remember a thing
and I’ll be there as your lover.”
I walked up to an older lady and told her, “ I am your lover.”
I told her never to forget me and that there will be no other.
She stored me in her memory, continued out her day
I wallowed in her memories and burned each one, each day.
