The world embraces its boredom guise.

The sun rises and the sun sets. 

Time goes by in the blink of an eye. 

But as I watch the rise and fall of your chest 

And hear your sweet cries

I realize the world may be something I just met. 

Sunny days seem to visit more often 

While dark days grow farther away 

My heart your amber eyes soften

As we sit and watch the mighty oaks sway 

We have since you entered the world of men

And everyday you make me feel I will be okay

I never want to think of the day you may leave

I know my heart will never be the same

But I’ll remember all the things you were able to achieve

Victories and love we always claimed

You are more than a pet most no doubt can conceive
