Alphabetic Dissent

Amazingly, pretentious artists actually exist
Blissfully ignorant of the fact that
Consciously barring any form of creativity
Defies the very essence of art.

Egotistical brats compartmentalizing their feelings.
Favorite ideas are not always the best ideas.

Generous delusions constantly causing
Hubris in its greatest form
In spite of all logic and reason
Jeering their peers and colleagues

Kindly judgements are no longer in existence.
Loose-lipped critics should be the mute.

Marring the ambition of an artist
Never benefits the masses
Over the helpful push
Provided by a caring teacher.

Cue the worst of them all
“Real art doesn’t look like that.”

Sordid elitists ramble on
The tenants they cite remain
Unwritten and subjective
Vain in all respects.

Whenever the pretentious artist looks upon someone
X-ray eyes penetrating, judging, insulting
Yield calm response
Zealots help nothing on either side.
