I was ten when I found out, on that coldhearted day

That the only one I loved, had truly ran away

He left me without notice, without warning, without a clue

He left me and I felt alone, which is why I am writing this to you

If only I would have known, I could have made him stay

If only I had known, I wouldn’t feel alone today

But dad just left, so sad and so true

He just left and I am forced to write this poem to you

“I’ll see him again,” I hope and pray

“I’ll see him again one fateful day”

“His face will catch my eyes, and I’ll no longer feel blue”

I’ll see him again and say, “I am no longer alone, because I am with you.”

Until then, here I stay

Waiting and waiting, day to day

It’s not the end, I know that to be true

It’s not the end, even though I feel alone, without you
