All the Things You Think

Boss me around all day,
But don't you think I should have my say?
So what if you are male and I am not?
We also have minds, thoughts, and dreams we have sought.
I am disgusted by the way you degrade me
Place me in the place you think I should be
Maybe I don't want to be in the kitchen or sweeping floors
Maybe I see all my potential, which really amounts to more than yours.
Don't order me around, like a slave, like a clown.
Cause one day I'll be in Heaven with my father, wearing a golden crown.

okay girl you are so amazing at this. i love it. LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEE, it girlfriend. AMEN BROTHER. speak da truth

Growing up with a very sexist South American family it is definitely something I have dealt with. So getting it out there that you are your own person, you can think for yourself and you can be whomever it is you want to be is said loud and clear with this poem.
