All I Need

All I need,

One thing, just one thing

How does one choose?

Deciding despite all the

Distractions, the noise, the chaos.

Everything fighting,

Fighting for your attention,

Companies tell us

What we need

And we listen

We spend our lives

Focussed on things

That don’t even matter

We gotta shift our attention;

Now I have one chance

One thing I can’t

Live Without

Can’t function Without

How could

Just one thing

Hold that much weight in my life?

Then I remember

Dedicating

Every day

Every dime

All of my time

To my family

It’s easy to forget sometimes,

With all the Corporations, and Cash,

The distractions that pass

Family is forever,

They are all I need,

And they will never leave

This poem is about:
Me
My family
Our world
