ALL I ASK YOU

Location

All he asked me was not to cry
He had a rather large fear of people saying goodbye
He said, "you are a dreamer. A beautiful dreamer."
I said "I am also a believer. A constant believer. I believe in you."

His heartbeat went by slowly
The machine beeped slowly
He tried to move but his pain
Stopped him, in vain

He said, "look child! I see the light!"
I tried and I tried to fight
To keep his promise
But I couldn't with all my might I tried
The machine beeped one last time
And I cried.
