That Is All

Location

We're asked from an early age
What do you want to be when you grow up
It's a question designed
To make us look forward to the future

But no matter what I do
I'm too scared to take the step
Maybe I don't want to grow up
Maybe the question should be
Do you want to grow up

I've spent my whole life running scared
And now you ask me which path to take
Like Robert Frost
I have to ask the question
Do I take the road less traveled
Or do what you expect from me

You want a prodigy
A doctor
Anything to make you proud
I want to be a writer

You ask me what I will fall back on
But there is no falling back
I am a writer
That is all
