Ah, But You
Dearest, dearest, darling, love,
Words could never truly speak,
What you mean to me.
The stars are my friends,
The grass my support,
Oak trees and singing birds,
Company in my loneliness.
Silence is sweet,
And the scent of blossoms,
Clear my mind of the yelling.
Music and the printed words,
Of novels take me,
Far, far away.
Ah, but you,
My love;
My dragon;
My walls;
My warmth.
You far surpass them all.
The world could disappear-
The birds, the words,
The scent of flowers,
The grass under the pads of my feet.
It all could fade
And I
Would be satisfied.
For I
Would forever have you.
