Age

I am fifteen going on sixteen
Another year to wait
Playing video games
Let me just say
I hope for time’s delay

I surf the internet
My daily routine
All the references
Are now a part of me

Throughout the day and age
Let me just say
“All the other teens
Can’t top me.”

I thought stereotypes were kind of ridiculous
So I wrote a song about it
But “Your Nickel Ain’t Worth My Dime”
What can you do about it?

Old, but I’m not that old
Young, but I’m not that young
Stuck between the lines
But when the sky falls, I’ll be fine

What more can I do about it?
It’s not like I have a choice in life
So I’ll keep making references
Just to confuse the girls and guys

Camp in the corner
Hide from the bro
You want to be his friend
But that grunt wants your soul

Make Slenderman
Your frienderman
And take a road trip in the Slendervan
So you should probably hide in the beaver dam

I am sixteen going on seventeen
Another year to wait
Making references all day
Let me just say
I hope for time’s delay
