island that is fascinating
beats are drumming
sounds are playing
feets are moving
congas is vibrating
dancing sensationalizing
history where this form of Spanish music was born
it all started with a legend name Benny More who's sounds were more natural than a rotten corn
passed on to Machito
passed on to Tito Puente who transformed Afro-Cuban to a style that transcends the meaning of beautiful music
there was beef back then
but not like now when one feels threaten, they pull out an instrument call a gun
back then, all they pulled out was an instrument call music and a voice
of course, like the blacks, there was segregation
color people spoke out and provided a different suggestion
the legacy of Afro Cuban music continued until the 90's
clubs closed down
drugs became the epitome of the town
a legendary gentleman by the name Mr. Bobby Sanabria resonated the word disenfranchise
although bridges were burn, there is still hope
the movement of Afro-Cuban will bounce back more than stronger than a junkie on the corner who continues to sniff dope
