Afraid of Being Lost

Location

We're always conducted by two hands on our wrists
that always know exactly where everyone should go
And everybody's car is just an excuse to see the world
without having to stray too far from their own home

And every light is like a shield to protect from what we cannot see
and every sign a hand guiding us to where we need to be
We tear down everything around us to build things we'd never need
because we're all afraid of being lost

Every day is a schedule so we know exactly what to do
and every month is built on predetermined dates and school
And every sleepless Sunday night is divided evenly
into time spent gathering comfort foods and watching TV

And every song is an anthem to remind us we're not alone
and every story's a lesson to prove that we've done nothing wrong
We look past all our vices to focus on the things we want to see
because we're all afraid of being lost
