Affection

Pain.

Controlling. Mind numbing.

The world beckons.

It calls.

Envelops you in its ice-cold arms.

A ray of hope glimmers and peaks through the cracks.

Hope.

Years of pain, slowly melting.

It lessens.

The pain is part of you.

But no longer does it comsume your whole being.

You stand.

You grab the light with eager hands, outstretched,

Relief.

Happiness.

The world has saved you.
