Accessories From Home

An elegant blue sleeved dress,
Long, flowing, hanging on the rack,
Modern but conservative,
She grabs it,
Looking avidly at short dresses, strapless and free,
Knowing better than to give in to such desires,

Knowing eyes see through the fabric,
Past the cerulean blue, to purple bruises and red cuts,
She smiles through their pity,
Their silent concern,
Still she cover what they already know,
Her accessories, her souvenir from home.
