An Abnormal Normalcy
You were once so beautiful,
We were once so close
But this is not who i once loved
And is instead a tortured ghost
Just a shell that's been cracked
And on the verge of perish
Looking back on what once was
I grieve more so than cherish
I mourn the yesteryears
That we let slip right by us
What was once occasional dysfunction
Has now become perpetually riotous
Too much has broken in our midst,
Physical as well as mental
Who we are now is not who we thought we were,
Savages, no longer gentle
In different ways, we're withering away
Either in spirit, body, or sanity
Where once there was compromise
No longer are there even shards of normalcy
Always at each others' throats,
I wish only in metaphor
Something went very wrong
I beg it ends peacefully, for we can take not much more.
