4:02 AM Corban Avenue

It was a love so strong it could stop the sun form setting

because both of our mothers said to be home before dark

it was bleeding my words into your hands in the back of an astro van

it was forgiveness

it was growing

it was moving forwards and never moving back

it was tossing and turning, trying to find the cool spot of the mattress, but instead finding each other

and it was being okay with that.

Love to me then was driving forty five minutes out of the way just to help you pick out socks at target

It was finding those socks underneath a pile of clothes in my room two months later

Love was patience and kindness and a heart shattering realization that

love was all I had ever wanted and all I ever needed

love was the realization that that was enough
