16. Rain, rain, go away!

Before I start this, I want to let you know, I don't want no Glory, I just want you to hear my story

“Rain, rain, go away!”
That's all you always say
But why? Why can't I stay?
Why can't I be as cool as the sun?
Why can't I be pictured as someone who's fun?
Who me? I'm rain, the one liked by none!
When people think of me, they think of disaster
I'm that big old ugly monster!
But I'm more than that… I'm not disaster and I'm no monster… I'm pure water
Water, I make up 72% of the human's body
And 71% of this world's body
“Rain, rain, go away!”
But if I was to go away, you wouldn't have the oceans, the lakes and the bays
If I was to go away, you would be thirsty all day
“Rain, rain, go away!”
No, I think amma stay
Amma stay and water these plants and give you beautiful flowers
Amma stay and you gonna feel my showers
Yeah, God gave us all a purpose, and my purpose is to stay and keep this world from being a desert
And no, there's no beef between me and sun
Because we are brothers and we need each other
We are both important parts of the water cycle
He does the evaporating, and I do the precipitating
Yeah, the sun is shining, and I'm reigning
“Rain, rain, go away!”
No, amma stay…
And when I get there, amma need you to sing clap and cheer!
And don't forget, without me, there wouldn't be a rainbow
And remember, I'm not asking for Glory,
Because all Glory belongs to God, only to Him do we bow!
