125 Days Until Graduation

Dear System,

You tried.

You tried your best to squash me down

A square peg into your row of round holes.

You tried so hard you overlooked

I was never a peg at all.

You tried to conform me

To not let me perform free

Well system you do not own me.

You tried to push out

Another mindless clone

Another mindless drone

Incapable of being original.

You tried

To make me reliant on you

Compliant with you

One more of the stagnant new youth.

I have bad news, System.

You failed.

I’m still smart.

I’m still unique.

I’m still creative.

I’m still here.

No longer yours,

Clio Thayer
