My thoughts twirl 

like a daisy

spinning between the 

two sticky palms of a 

six year old girl

bowed by the wind and 

scratched by the sand

burned by the sun 

dropped to the ground 

drowned in the dew

stabbed by the expansion 

of microscopic ice crystals 

crushed under a sneaker.
